Valle dei laghi

This magical corner of Trentino, with many romantic and beautiful lakes

The area extending from the Upper Garda to Toblino is also known as Valle dei Laghi (the Valley of the Lakes), due to the numerous lakes that can be found there. At the top of the list, of course, is Lake Garda, the biggest, from which, via the national road number 45, and just past the town of Dro, on the left, is the small lake of Bagatoli, beyond which is the suggestive Lake Toblino, with its castle projecting over the water. Opposite the castle is the Maso Toresella, the former summer residence of the Prince Bishop of Trento, now used to host formal events and official occasions by the Cantina Cavit Winery of Trento. From Toblino, turning right, you reach the Valle di Cavedine, with Lake Cavedine and Lake Lagolo. Returning towards Riva del Garda, and taking the road to the Valle di Ledro, you can admire the majestic depression of Ledro, which deserves at least a half-day trip, also to visit the Prehistoric pile dwellings rebuilt on the shores of the lake.
